What is OT security?+
Operational technology (OT) security protects the systems that control physical processes: PLCs, DCS, SCADA, HMIs, safety instrumented systems and the networks between them. Its priorities differ from IT security. Safety and uptime come first, then integrity, then confidentiality.
How is OT security different from IT security?+
Control systems run for decades, can't be rebooted on demand and can fail if scanned the wrong way. OT security relies on passive monitoring, segmentation and compensating controls, and every change is planned around production and safety.
Will an assessment disrupt production?+
No. We start with passive discovery and a physical plant walk. Any active testing happens in a lab copy of your environment, or with written sign-off during a maintenance window.
Do we have to replace our current OT monitoring tools?+
No. We work with Dragos, Claroty, Nozomi Networks, Tenable OT and Microsoft Defender for IoT. If you don't have a tool yet, we help you choose one that fits your sites.
Which OT security standards and regulations do you cover?+
IEC 62443 is the base. On top of it we map NERC CIP and TSA directives in the US, NCA OTCC and ECC in Saudi Arabia, UAE and Qatar national standards across the Gulf, and NEPRA's IT and OT security regulations for Pakistan's power sector.
Is it safe to connect AI and cloud analytics to our OT network?+
It can be, if the path is designed for it. We keep data flowing out through the DMZ, block write-back to control levels by default, limit what an agent can read, and add the new traffic to OT monitoring.
Who does the work?+
Senior OT security engineers who have worked inside live industrial operations. Every client gets a named lead who stays with the program after the assessment.
